Job Description:

The SBA 8(a) Application Consultant will be responsible for guiding clients through the process of obtaining their 8(a) Certification, ensuring all documentation and requirements are met with precision and efficiency. This role involves detailed project management, client consultation, and thorough understanding of the SBA 8(a) application process.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Consultation and Interviewing:

Conduct detailed consultations to understand client eligibility and needs.

Assist clients in drafting and editing narratives for economically and socially disadvantaged status.

Provide clear and concise guidance on required documentation and application steps.

Document Preparation and Review:

Pre-fill and edit templates, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.

Perform thorough reviews of all client documents, including financial statements, to identify and resolve potential issues.

Assemble final application packages, including comprehensive binders with table of contents, section tabs, and cover letters.

Project Management:

Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring timely submission of applications.

Respond promptly to requests from the SBA Reviewing Officials and clients.

Track progress and maintain detailed records of all client interactions and documentations.

Additional Support Services:

Assist clients with other socioeconomic certifications (WOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) as needed.

Provide guidance on business development strategies and federal contracting opportunities.

Support clients in annual recertification processes and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in related areas are a plus.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business consulting, with specific experience in SBA 8(a) Certification preferred.

Strong understanding of SBA 8(a) application requirements and federal contracting processes.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with other federal certifications and contracting vehicles (GSA Schedule, IDIQs, etc.).

Familiarity with socioeconomic narratives and compliance documentation.

Background in project management and client relationship management.
