JOB SCOPE
This position is a Project Manager role with a focus on driving successful project performance as well as ensuring that Agile practices are followed. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple projects with an array of client staff and vendor staff in a consulting engagement environment.

  • Manages multiple project-identifying dependencies between projects and manages resource balancing
  • Leads projects and executes all project management activities and resolves issues and problems to include:
    • conducts project deliverable quality reviews and audits
    • develops and maintains project schedules and identifies dependencies and the critical path within IT project tasks affecting project milestones and goals
    • conducts risk management and develops mitigation and contingency plans
    • tracks project budgets and costs
    • communicates and coordinates project assignments
    • sets deadlines and time frames for completion
  • Ability to understand sprint planning, reporting, and gaining understanding of sprint health and progress
  • Collaborates and communicates with the client regarding activities involved with the project
  • Understand the IT environment and ensure the projects stay compliant with the Enterprise Architecture guidelines and security requirements
  • Comply with Artemis and client policy and project portfolio reporting and analysis requirements
  • Coordinate and provide information as requested to Client PMO
  • Facilitate daily standup meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint demo reviews, and sprint retrospectives
  • Ensure that the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility

QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the job scope details, candidate must meet the requirements detailed below:
  • 5+ years of project management experience managing full lifecycle of the project
  • 2+ years of experience managing more than one project of varying complexity and size
  • 2+ years managing accessible (508 compliant) development projects
  • 3+ years of experience managing federal contracts
  • Certified Scrum master or other industry recognized certifications for agile software project
  • At least three years’ experience successfully and independently managing IT projects using an industry recognized agile methodology
  • PMP certification is highly desired
  • Deep experience with managing projects through self-directed expertise, teaming/ partnerships, and collaboration before escalating matters
  • Have experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, business analysts, IT specialists, contractors, and others to identify and capture user requirements and expectations
  • Demonstrated experience with writing reports and documentation that are concise, clear, factually accurate, logically ordered, and free of errors
  • Experience working in a client-customer environment serving as a proxy for client project manager
  • Ability to ensure a minimum of two sprints worth of user stories are ready in the team backlog
  • Perform Sprint planning and tracking and manage story progression in lifecycle (wall status within a sprint)
  • Calculate Burndown and Velocity and perform Capacity and Release planning
  • Demonstrable experience using Excel spreadsheets, JIRA, Bugzilla, Slack, Confluence, and project management software such as Microsoft project

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • On-site in DC 2-3 days a week; positions are currently remote but will transition to on-site
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident or similar authorization to work (required by Federal client)
  • Ability to pass U.S. Government Public Trust clearance is required
  • Corporate background and credit check is necessary
