Provide routine, personal healthcare, such as bathing, dressing, or grooming, to elderly,
convalescent, or disabled persons in a residential care facility with 5 beds.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Administer prescribed oral medications under written direction of physician
Change dressings.
2. Check residents vitals.
3. Direct residents in simple prescribed exercises and in the use of braces or artificial limbs.
4. Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, and problems in order to report
and discuss observations with a supervisor or case manager.
5. Provide residents with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or
automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
6. Change bed linens, laundry and clean residents quarters.
7. Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to residents to keep them mentally healthy and
alert.
8. Prepare, and serve meals to residents according to prescribed diets.
9. Provide residents and families with emotional support and instruction in areas such as
infant care, preparing healthy meals, independent living, and adaptation to disability or
illness.
10. Produce documents for residents (such as medication administration records, menus,
care notes, service plans, etc.) Keep a record of the care given.
11. Report any change in condition or any concerns to the staff member who is managing the
case.
12. Follow infectious disease precautions to prevent the spread of organisms.
