DSP-In Home Direct Support Provider

Responsibilities:

Provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings.

Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming), meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping (laundry, tidying).

Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behavioral support plans (BSPs) as needed, documenting progress and any changes in behavior or health status.

Support individuals in developing and strengthening life skills, including cooking, budgeting, communication, and social interaction.

Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management (with proper training and certification, if required by state regulations).

Provide transportation to appointments (medical, social, community outings) and assist with errands (grocery shopping, etc.).

Encourage community integration and participation in social, recreational, and educational activities based on the individual's preferences and goals.

Foster a safe, clean, and supportive environment, ensuring the health and well-being of the individuals served.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, observations, and progress notes.

Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, guardians, healthcare providers, and the support team.

Adhere to all company policies, state and federal regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
