Job Overview

Practice is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical assistant Receptionist ( phlebotomist a plus). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within a medical environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in various medical settings such as phlebotomy and internal medicine is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist with the check-in process

Manage appointment scheduling and patient intake procedures

Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details

Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and update patient files as necessary

Assist with the administration of vital signs and basic life support when required

Collaborate with the healthcare provider to ensure seamless patient care

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room

Administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and handling correspondence

Requirements

Previous experience in a medical administrative support role is preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and phlebotomy

Familiarity with EHR systems and patient care protocols

Experience in various medical settings such as outpatient clinics, emergency medicine, or inpatient care is a plus

Basic life support certification is desirable

Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service excellence

Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail

Proficiency in handling sensitive information with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications: (not required)

Medical office administration training or certification.

Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages).

Experience with insurance verification, billing, or prior authorizations.
