Oral Surgical Assistant

A busy oral and facial cosmetic surgery practice is looking for a long-term, self-starter with full-time experience in oral surgery/cosmetic surgery. Candidate must have leadership skills and be highly motivated and be able to handle multiple tasks, great written/communication skills, a team player with a good work ethic, fast worker, organized, self-starter, articulate, and understands high-quality patient care. Must be familiar with aseptic techniques and patient monitoring.

So we may continue to provide quality dental and facial cosmetic care, our Surgery Assistant is required to perform a variety of duties. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for all aspects of assisting surgeons with surgical/non-surgical procedures as First Assistant.

- Prepare and set up the operative room based on procedures

- Obtaining patient intake/medical history

- Set up and break down all surgical trays and room

- Cleans and sterilizes instruments

- Inventory supplies

- Restocks rooms

- Prepares and provides pre and post-op instructions to patients

- Adhere to OSHA protocols

- Adhere to HIPAA standards

- Assists front office staff when necessary

- Take appropriate X-rays and panoramic/CT scans. (registered is a plus!)

- Knowledge of injectable products (filler/ botox) is a plus!

- Manage and oversee the direction and flow of patients to ensure the daily schedule runs efficiently and timely.

- High attention to detail, accuracy, and verbal and written communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be available to work Monday -Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional arriving earlier or later depending on a scheduled procedure.

- Neat appearance is a must!

- 2+ yr experience with oral surgery assistant and/or cosmetic-plastic surgery experience is a must!

- Certified/Registered Surgical Assistant or Dental Assistant.

- Willing to train highly motivated individual

- Knowledge of sterile techniques and instruments

- Must be a team player, detail-oriented, proactive, organized, outgoing, creative, enthusiastic, and able to multi-task.

- Attention to detail and great time management

- Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills are essential

- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills (English), and Spanish is a plus!

- CPR-certified BLS/ACLS is a plus!

- Great computer skills

- This position requires that you pass a pre-employment drug test. In addition, all employees are subject to random drug tests.

- Willingness to help and contribute wherever help is needed to improve the overall office success
