Youth For Tomorrow is a residential facility established in 1986. YFT has experienced extraordinary growth in its services and needs qualified skilled technicians to aid in the care and maintenance of the facility and grounds. Role and Responsibilities

Maintenance and repairs to YFT homes, offices, buildings, satellite offices, grounds, etc.

Respond and complete work orders within 24 hours, unless work order requires parts or hired contractors.

Prepare and assist with construction projects, event set-up and take down, fundraising events, etc.

Ensure YFT grounds is maintained which include, but are not limited to; mowing, shoveling, pulling weeds, plowing snow, etc.

Provide on-call services to urgent maintenance requests. Including evenings and weekends.

Assist with making deliveries, maintaining/ monitoring of inventory, assembly of furniture, donation pick-ups, etc.

Perform weekly inspections of YFT resident homes and complete necessary maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School diploma required

Positive attitude

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Highly self-motivated with strong work ethics

Knowledge and understanding of basic power tools and maintaining residential and commercial structures.

Motor skills are strongly needed in order to complete tasks such as climbing ladders, squatting, utilizing both arms, legs and bending

Ability to Lift 70 lbs or more

Problem solving abilities

Common understanding of assembling furniture

Appliance repairs a plus, can train!

Considerable knowledge and common sense on OSHA safety

Ability to prioritize work orders and various on-going projects

Specific knowledge and experience in the following areas a plus: Drywall Replacement/Patch, minor electrical work, minor plumbing work, and ability to use power tools, lawn mowers and snow removal.

Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Some emergency call-ins may be required.

Preferred Experience and Training:

Commercial and residential maintenance

Carpentry, drywall, light fixture replacement and other general home repairs

Plumbing and water heater replacement

Remodeling work & knowledge of appliance repair

Landscaping and mowing on commercial equipment

OSHA 10/30 training

Forklift certification

Candidate must be able to pass FBI fingerprinting background check to work in a Children's Residential Facility, Health screening for TB and Immunization records.
