Goren & Barreto is seeking an entry level Associate Attorney who is bilingual in Spanish and English. The Associate will be working on cases such as family-based petitions, employment petitions, naturalization applications, adjustments of status, asylums, SIJS, U Visas, waivers, cancellation of removal, and prosecutorial discretion requests.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate legal case strategies
Attend master calendar hearings and USCIS interviews
Prepare waiver applications and requests for prosecutorial discretion
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other correspondence
Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions
Remain aware of changes that may affect immigration matters
Requirements:
J.D. degree
Active bar license from any U.S. state (in a good standing)
Excellent writing skills
Ability to manage a high case volume and meet deadlines
Fluent in English and Spanish, STRONGLY preferred
