The Soresi Industrial Group Inc. seeks to hire a full-time, experienced in-house counsel. This position can be remote. However, frequent office meetings with the CEO will be required.
The Soresi Industrial Group specializes in industrial operations, with primarily RemacUSA, Inc. as a wholly owned subsidiary focusing on demolition, environmental services, and recycling (the construction industry). We strive to deliver high-quality, sustainable industrial solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. A good majority of the work revolves around these activities. The candidate must have extensive experience in the following:
Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Provide legal guidance on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance, manage disputes and contractor claims, and represent the company in litigation involving procurement, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Arbitration
Handle all arbitration matters, including preparation of case files, gathering of evidence, and representation in proceedings.
Resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, such as settlement negotiations and mediation.
Contracts
Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and align with the company’s best interests.
Advise on the legal aspects of construction contracts, performance bonds, insurance requirements, and contractor/subcontractor disputes.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
Guide on obtaining necessary environmental permits and licenses for demolition, recycling, and industrial operations.
Advise on legal issues related to site remediation, environmental safety, and demolition procedures.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws affecting company operations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety regulations.
Manage workers’ compensation claims and disputes.
Provide legal guidance on safety procedures and accident prevention in demolition and environmental services
operations.
Review insurance policies and advise on appropriate coverage for company operations.
Oversee claims processes and work with insurance providers to ensure proper claim handling and dispute resolution.
Stay current on changes to relevant laws, including environmental, labor, and corporate regulations, and ensure company practices comply.
Act as the primary legal point of contact for day-to-day business operations.
Research complex legal issues or novel scenarios arising in business operations.
Litigation
Develop litigation strategy and represent the company in state and federal courts.
Oversee all legal matters related to corporate litigation.
Represent the company in legal disputes, including contractor/subcontractor conflicts and environmental compliance cases.
