We are looking for a dedicated Inspector to join our roster who can uphold our high standards and meet our increasing demand—specifically in the DC/Maryland area and on weekends.
The Role
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role, but you won’t be on an island. You will conduct detailed residential inspections, prepare comprehensive reports within 24 hours, and interact directly with clients and agents.
We are looking for an experienced home inspector who is willing to learn and implement our systems. You will be the face of the company in the field, meaning your technical knowledge must be matched by your ability to communicate complex issues with calm confidence.

- You are Detail-Oriented: You don’t cut corners on the inspection, and you don’t cut corners on the report.

If you are the type of person who frequently says, "That’s not my job" when faced with a problem, this likely isn't the right fit. If you are someone who says, "I’ll figure it out" or "I can help with that," we want to meet you.
- You are Self-Aware: You are knowledgeable, but you are willing to admit when you don't know something—and you commit to finding the answer.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough home inspections and identify issues.
- Communicate findings clearly and calmly to clients and agents (verbal and written).
- Deliver high-quality reports within 24 hours.
- Maintain strict punctuality and responsiveness to office communications.
- Proactively manage your calendar to reflect accurate availability.
- Learn and share learnings with other contract inspectors.
Requirements
- Testing: Must have passed the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE).
- Licensure: Licensed in Maryland and Virginia (or currently in the process/willing to obtain in short order).
- Location: Must reside in or near the DC/Maryland Beltway area (e.g., Fairfax or Montgomery Counties) for access to inspection sites.
- Availability: Weekend availability is required.
- Equipment: Own a reliable vehicle, smartphone, and basic home inspection tools.
- Certification: Radon certified (or willing to obtain), willing and motivated to obtain additional certifications.
