Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) located in Washington, D.C., is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. MSE owns and operates six professional sports teams: the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, WNBA’s 2019 Champion Washington Mystics, the NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go, the 2021 & 2020 NBA 2K League Champion Wizards District Gaming and Caps Gaming, an esports sub-brand of the Capitals. Additionally, it holds a significant investment in a seventh team, Team Liquid, an endemic esports team owned and operated by aXiomatic. Monumental Sports owns and operates Capital One Arena (COA), a 20,000+ capacity live event venue in Washington, D.C. MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex, the state-of-the-art training facility for the Capitals and EagleBank Arena on George Mason University’s campus.
We are looking for 8 people who are interested in working part-time at Capital One Arena. These are event-based positions and the starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Position Overview: Part-time Safety Team Members will join a newly created part-time event team. The Safety Team will serve as an essential part of the Capital One Arena experience during events and games. These are exciting, event-based positions that will provide support to MSE Security, CSC, and Guest Relations as needed. Responsibilities:
Conduct foot patrol and building checks during events.
Conduct visual inspections and monitor assigned post area(s).
Investigate and report any unusual or unauthorized activity during events.
Conduct screening of employees, visitors, and guests as needed.
Provide a quality guest experience to all visitors, guests, and team members.
Be observant of spills and anything unusual during events.
Demonstrate creativity, persistence, “Arena Awareness”, and knowledge related to the specific event to accurately and efficiently find the best possible options.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Willingness to work in a variety of environments including loud noises, strobe lights, heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods without a break.
Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
