We are not looking for just another employee. We are looking for a reliable, productive individual who wants to be a part of a team of superstars serving our clients!
Obviously, it would be great if you are good at everything. But, in case you are not, we are looking for someone who is good with details, loves working with numbers, is comfortable working with financial documents, can spot trends and gaps in the information, loves creating and using spreadsheets, can work well with clients to gather and review information, is great at answering the phone, and is a good writer. We need someone who is really smart, detailed oriented, and kind and empathetic with clients. Attention to detail is critical. Our work is very document and detail intensive.
We realize that relatively few who actually read this ad will apply. We also know that only an industrious, qualified person will be hired. We are willing to train you in areas where you are less skilled. Simply, we don't want to spend our time dealing with those who are not success-minded.
Who are you?
Uou enjoy learning and problem solving. You are great with a computer, enjoy organizing varied tasks, and work well with others. You like working on complex issues. You enjoy being a critical part of a successful business. You must have 100% command of English. You are self-reliant. You are reliable and a self-starter. You will have many important tasks that we trust you will do correctly and timely. You show up when scheduled. You ask questions but you don't make excuses. You want to be successful and you know that the massive success of the "one percenters" is not due to luck, birth, or anything elseit's because they work harder and learn something new every day. Success is not accidental.
You have a good to excellent grasp of basic accounting and bookkeeping practices. Two plus years of experience is desired. You have working knowledge of basic taxes and tax terminology. You know what a P&L statement and Balance Sheet are. You are ethical. You are an enthusiastic, upbeat team player who can work well with others in a small office.
Can you listen to clients, obtain personal information, and synthesize information to determine what is lacking in a professional and empathetic manner?
You will be using your talents to analyze and synthesize financial information provided by clients; to spot trends and gaps; contact clients and others for additional pertinent financial information. You will be tracking down records, talking to clients, and completing forms and creating spreadsheets to better communicate a client's status. Yes, there are routine tasks as well, such as opening and scanning mail, but these shouldn't keep you from accomplishing major tasks.
Fluency in a second language, such as Korean, Spanish or Chinese is a plus.
While this is not accounting or income tax return preparation work, experience or education in these areas is very beneficial. You must be up-to-date with your own tax return filings. Having prepared your own tax return at least once is also a plus.
Are you looking for a place you can call your home? Do you long to be away from the large machine of corporate America and long for a small office environment? Do you want some flexibility in your job schedule? Have you tried the self-employment route and found out it was not for you? Then this job might be for you.
But, if you are not a team player, this job is not for you. If you do not like your efforts being measured, this job is not for you. If you don’t have the experience or skills, this job is not for you. If you don’t like the imperfect, sometimes messy world of small business, this job is not for you.
Who are we?
We are a small business who helps the economy grow by providing work for others and by supporting clients. We help others reconcile tax issues with the IRS.

We need you because we produce a TON of information on behalf of our clients daily. Our "to do" lists swamp us. We have so many more things to accomplish; we need YOU - if you fit the bill. The person we hire will know what it means to meet deadlines, work independently, and restore our faith in the American work ethic. We like working with smart, motivated individuals who are eager to learn. We know that the right person can absolutely be taught the right methods. Most applicants won't even read this far, so we already know that you are one of a few!
