Job Summary:
The cabinet maker helper / millwork helper will assist experienced cabinet makers with the production of high-end custom millwork cabinets for our diverse customer base, including corporate offices, sports facilities, schools, law firms, museums, etc. A successful helper should have woodworking skills, knowledge of woodworking machinery, a strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn the trade. This is a full-time position with opportunity for overtime. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist cabinet makers with the production of high-end millwork items.
- Be willing to learn the trade from experienced millworkers.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine appropriate materials and tools required to complete the job.
- Cut, shape, and join materials to create wood cabinets.
- Operate relevant woodworking tools, including saws, drills, routers, sanders, etc.
- Install hardware to cabinets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a wood shop.
- Skilled in the use of woodworking tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to make precise measurements.
- Desire to learn a new trade.
