We are a commercial demolition contractor seeking an estimator to determine the pricing of construction projects we are interested in bidding. The estimator examines building plans and uses factors like labor needs, materials, and logistics to determine pricing.
Job Responsibilities:
Read drawings, plans and specifications for bid details
Review bid requirements thoroughly
Perform take-offs, and get all information to complete the bid
Prepare estimates and proposals outlining scope of work and costs
Follow up on submitted bids and budgets
Attend pre-bid meetings when needed
Develop and maintain good customer relations.
Communicate effectively with our project manager and finance staff to keep costs and processes up to date
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in construction estimating, cost control, and pricing
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
Familiarity with construction site operations and management
Ability to negotiate pricing effectively
Must live within the Northern VA area; this is an in-person position
