MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Marymount University is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician—a true “jack of all trades” who takes pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming learning environment. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this position works closely with the Facilities team to uphold our Service Forward culture and ensure that Marymount’s campus remains a safe, comfortable, and beautiful place to live, learn, and work.
As a key member of our high-performing Facilities team, the Maintenance Technician will apply a range of trade skills—including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and light carpentry—to maintain building systems and ensure reliable operations across campus. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently or collaboratively, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a customer-focused environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Director and Assistant Director on various projects from painting to minor repairs relating to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems
Performs daily inspections of the buildings and corrects any deficiencies.
Performs scheduled maintenance of building systems.
Performs repairs as needed on service work orders.
Closes work order tickets using the Brightly CMMS software.
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Performs outside inspections.
Occasional overnight and/or on-call duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
5 years of related experience. Knowledge of building repairs, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Some maintenance functions involve elements of physical risk or stress that require extreme care and safety precautions.
Qualifications
PC-based computer skills and Internet navigation.
Experience using email and calendaring applications (Google-based applications).
Past success at being a “jack of all trades” capable of doing everything from power washing to minor electrical work (changing bulbs, ballasts), minor plumbing work (snaking drains, unclogging toilets, fixing minor leaks), minor sheetrock repairs, and painting.
Experience troubleshooting facilities issues and escalating when necessary
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
DRIVING REQUIREMENT
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). A good driving record, as reported by the Department of Transportation, is essential. Must hold, or be able to obtain, all applicable licenses required by governing authorities to operate a commercial vehicle. Adheres to local and state laws, as well as brand and owner guidelines for driver certification and safe transport of guests. No texting or use of cell phones while the vehicle is in motion.

Special Knowledge
Knowledge of basic computer operations. Operation and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, ladders, vehicles (trucks, gator, etc.) and HVAC. Construction, electrical and plumbing terminology. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and administrators at all levels of the University in performing maintenance duties.
