We are proud to be revolutionizing health care with visionary leadership and world-class resources.The role you’ll contribute:The Lead Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the rehabilitative needs of the patient with chronic lung disease. Provides consultative services to case managers, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and referral sources as requested to facilitate patient discharge, placement or convalescence. Initiates and implements all aspects of outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation services as prescribed under the supervision of the Respiratory Care medical and technical directors. Oversees the day to day operations and coordinates all functions of the Pulmonary Rehab program.The value you’ll bring to the team:

Maintains open lines of communication with all applicable hospital staff, referring physicians and payers in order to meet department goals. Communicates with department leadership on a timely basis.

Organizes, initiates, and delivers pulmonary rehabilitation according to the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and Medicare guidelines in conjunction with the physician referral, in order to achieve therapeutic and financial objectives of the program. Interviews potential clients, verifies physician referral, and seeks payer approval prior to initiating service.

Organizes interdisciplinary team conferences as applicable. Provides instruction to staff members concerning rehabilitation procedures whenever needed or requested.

Performs all clinical documentation necessary to facilitate achievement of goals and minimize denial of reimbursement, including initial evaluation, weekly summaries, and discharge summaries.

Proactively initiates process improvement ideas. Assists with clinical instruction and precepting. Supports hospital and department mission, goals, and department metrics. Performs other duties as requested by department leadership.

QualificationsWhat You Will Need:

Associate’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program

At least two years’ experience providing rehabilitative therapy to pulmonary patients, or satisfactorily complete a prescribed training program in pulmonary rehabilitation technique

Current, valid State of Florida license as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist

Current ACLS and BLS certification

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science (Preferred)

One-year experience in smoking cessation counseling, or completion of a smoking cessation counselor training program (Preferred)
