Come join us #WorkforBoca General Definition of Work: The Golf Outside Services position is the first and last point of contact for customers at City operated golf courses and is responsible for providing superior service while maintaining the finest amenities. Golf Outside Services maintains a clean, organized work environment while presenting a professional image for the areas of focus that includes, but is not limited to, bag drop, cart barn and practice facilities. This position is required to work a combination of morning and afternoon/evening shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays. The position may be scheduled up to 25 hours per week (3 shifts).Acceptance of gratuities is permitted in this position classification. Employee in this position classification shall be responsible for proper reporting (including IRS) of all gratuities. Essential Functions
Greets customers upon arrival and provides a fond farewell at their departure
Retrieves customers golf bag from vehicle and stages on carts for play.
Prepares, operates and performs light maintenance on the golf car fleet
Set up, monitor and break down practice facility operations
Cleans golf clubs following play and returns them to bag drop or vehicle
Washes golf cars and replenishes supplies following play
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Assists with customer’s requests as needed
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
The game of golf and/or golf course operations.
Basic mechanical maintenance practices such as use of grease gun, pneumatic socket wrench, wire brush, and air compressor.
Skilled in:
Time management.
Problem solving.
Basic math functions.
Customer focused interpersonal communications.
Ability to:
Operate in a high volume, demanding environment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Evaluate situations objectively and make an informed decision and judgement.
Manage and prioritize several tasks at the same time.
Safely operate motorized vehicles.
Perform light mechanical maintenance on golf carts to include but not limited to grease front ends, change tires, maintain proper tire pressure, and keep battery terminals free of corrosion.
Work a fluctuating schedule that may occur during the week and/or weekend, including holidays.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Strong knowledge of or playing experience in the game of golf preferred.

CITY OF BOCA RATON - BENEFITS SUMMARYPart-Time EmployeesELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible to receive Paid Leave and to contribute to the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, a part-time employee must have worked at least 1,040 hours in the prior fiscal yearPAID LEAVE: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will receive twelve (12) hours of Paid Leave on October 1st. This Paid Leave shall be used no later than September 30th of that fiscal year or it will be forfeited. These hours may not accumulate and may only be granted with the approval of the employee's supervisor. This paid leave has no cash value at separation of employment.MISSION SQUARE 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will be allowed to participate in the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. The City will not provide any matching funds.
