Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Clearwater, Florida. This position is in the government sector, where you will be handling a high volume of complex transactions and ensuring compliance with public funds usage. We offer a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately process a high volume of customer credit applications Ensure strict compliance with public funds usage and legal requirements Audit invoices carefully to ensure they meet the necessary purchase order, contract terms, or funding agency requirements Use Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, to manage data and communications Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the ORACLE Accounts Payable system Communicate effectively with county contacts and vendors regarding cost allocations, documentation, and the status of invoices and payments Independently organize, multitask, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines Conduct budget analysis to check for available funding on purchase orders and departmental budgets Assist with special projects, staff training, system testing, and review as necessary Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures Demonstrated experience with Oracle software Solid understanding of Fund Accounting principles Familiarity with Government Grants and related financial operations Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work Strong numerical skills and an ability to spot inaccuracies Ability to handle confidential information in a detail oriented manner Excellent time management skills to meet strict deadlines Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role is preferred A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is advantageous.
