Provides exceptional customer service in person and over the telephone.Operates a multi-module and global recreation management system including Point of Sale, activity registration, pass management, rental reservations, ticket sales, report processing and etc. Operates a cash register/drawer and perform mathematical calculations.Handles cash, reconciles deposits, and changes banks; performs end of shift/day reports.Assists customers in providing information on and processing program registrations, facility rentals, and memberships.Operates a variety of office equipment including a multi-line telephone system, computer, copy machine and fax machine.Performs routine clerical duties. Files and archives records; prepares reports and documents in accordance with departmental procedures.Prepares site, equipment, and/or materials for recreational activities, facility rentals, and special events. Maintains supply and equipment inventory control. Issues, receives, and oversees the use and care of recreation and/or facility supplies and equipment.Observes, enforces, and complies with all policies, rules, regulations, laws, and ordinances of the facility, the Department, and the City of Coral Gables.Maintains order and discipline of facility patrons and ensure that all safety precautions are observed and followed.Administers basic first aid as required; prepares and completes required paperwork related to accidents and incidents. Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and other functions as required by the Supervisor or Department.Assists in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.Performs other related duties as assigned.Please note that this position is for the Coral Gables Adult Activity Center.QualificationsCandidates must be a minimum of 17 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.One year of customer service experience desired. Previous cash handling experience and certification in an approved first aid and CPR course preferred.A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.Additional InformationThe City of Coral Gables is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Drug Free Workplace.PART-TIME (15-24 Hours): ANNUAL LEAVE: 4 days per year (1 day is equivalent to 4.80 hours). Leave is accrued but not able to use during first 90 days of employment. SICK LEAVE: 4 days per year. Employees may convert to annual leave 15 hours if more than 2 days have been accrued and unused during the fiscal year. HOLIDAYS: 12 holidays (If scheduled to work, plus 1 floating day).BEREAVEMENT: 3 Days for the death of an immediate family member (Parent, spouse, or child) and 2 days for any other immediate family member.ADMINISTRATIVE SICK LEAVE: Employees who have not used sick leave, leave without pay, or have not lost time due to an on-the-job injury in a 6 month period are entitled to 1 day of administrative leave. CASH PAY OUT OF VACATION: Employees may request payment of accrued/earned annual leave not to exceed 15 hours at the rate of pay in effect at the time of the request, provided such request is made no later than September 30, 2015 (or as amended every fiscal year).MILITARY LEAVE: 30 work days every year with pay and the remainder of the period shall be without pay, unless otherwise provided by City Commission.
