Halifax Paving, family-owned and operated since 1955, has a proven track record of providing high-quality asphalt and site work services in the Eastern/Northern Central Florida areas. We are currently looking for a shovel man to join our Paving Crew.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Walk alongside the paver to shovel and rake areas of asphalt that require leveling.
Spot dump trucks dumping into the asphalt paver.
Must load, unload, and properly clean tools and equipment.
Routinely assists other team members in different areas of the road project.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be capable of performing duties near traveled roadways and live traffic lanes.
Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees; be a part of the team.
Must remain flexible as specific assignments change.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with asphalt paving.
