Drewry Site Development – Underground Utilities Pipe Crew (South Daytona, FL)
Drewry Site Development is hiring experienced Underground Utilities Pipe Crew members to join our team in South Daytona, FL. This is a full-time position working on water, sewer, and storm drain installations across Volusia County. We’re looking for dependable, hard-working individuals who take pride in quality work and can help deliver top-tier results on every project.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with laying, joining, and aligning pipes (PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, concrete, etc.)
-Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools or equipment under supervision
-Prepare pipe bedding and ensure proper alignment and grade
-Operate or assist with excavators, loaders, compactors, and trenchers
-Install manholes, catch basins, valves, and related structures
-Handle tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently
-Maintain a clean and safe job site per OSHA and company standards
-Support the Pipe Foreman and crew with daily tasks
-Perform routine maintenance on tools and small equipment
Qualifications:
-Minimum 2 years experience on an Underground Utilities Pipe Crew
-Knowledge of utility installation, construction practices, and safety requirements
-Ability to work outdoors in all weather and perform physically demanding labor
-Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
-Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
-Strong work ethic, communication skills, and attention to detail
-Skills and Competencies:
-Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
-Understanding of trench safety and excavation practices
-Strong teamwork and communication abilities
-Dependability and ability to follow instructions
