All while understanding that together we are even better.Schedule: Full-timeShift: DaysLocation: AdventHealth Daytona Beach – 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32117The role you’ll contribute:The Inpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the provision of care related to the prevention, assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the integumentary system for the patients under his/her care. The RN is accountable for all aspects of the nursing process in the provision of care and will strive to improve patient outcomes.The RN is responsible for acting as a role model for the Mission, Service Standards and patient promise of AdventHealth. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice. S/he critically evaluates evidence for application to clinical practice in his/her area of specialty.The value you’ll bring to the team:

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the inpatient wound care setting as consulted by the physician/LIP or other member of the healthcare team. Responsible for the assessment, planning, prevention and treatment of wounds, with special focus on chronic wounds such as, but not limited to, pressure injuries and pressure ulcers. Provides patient care as it relates to ostomy care and the application and removal of wound vacs.

Participates in quarterly wound care prevalence rounds in collaboration with Clinical Improvement and Nursing leaders.

Acts as a resource to multidisciplinary healthcare providers as it relates to the integumentary system, wound care and pressure injury/ulcer prevention.

Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, re-assessment and participation in the patient’s plan of care, and age specific considerations to provide quality care to the patient.

Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.

Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand condition, treatment, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.

Consults other healthcare professionals/departments as appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient’s needs.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations with the assistance of health care support personnel.

Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

Completes documentation per organizational/departmental policy.

Ensures safe and efficient use of equipment; troubleshooting malfunctions and following procedures for repair.

Facilitate clinical patient progression through a defined plan of care to achieve optimal outcomes.

Demonstrates the ability to perform all patient treatments and services requiring clinical/technical skills.

Demonstrates the ability to perform treatments and provide services related to all aspects of job performance in a time efficient manner.

Demonstrates the ability to work together as a team by participating equally in the completion of all shared responsibilities.

Attends departmental and hospital required in-services, wound care prevalence rounds, huddles, staff meetings, and training programs.

Attends seminars, conferences, and continuing education classes, stays current with changes and advances in in all areas of wound care medicine and shares new information by providing departmental in-services and acting as a resource to all staff.

Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures within the department.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:Minimum qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum of two years bedside nursing experience

Current Florida state Registered Nurse (RN) licensure

Current American Heart Association BLS certification

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher

Minimum of two years of wound care experience

Certification in Wound Care (i.e WOCN, WCC)

Certification in Ostomy Care (i.e. WOCN, OMS)
