Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and general accounting functions, including accrual accounting, cash flow reporting, payroll, advanced Excel analysis, prepaids, and fixed assets management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, strong Excel skills, and experience in these areas.Responsibilities:
Perform month-end and year-end accrual accounting processes, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
Analyze cash flow trends and prepare cash flow reports to support management decision-making and forecasting.
Manage payroll processes, including calculating hours, deductions, and taxes, and preparing payroll reports for management and tax filings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
Record and reconcile prepaid expenses and deferred revenue, ensuring accurate recognition and allocation of expenses.
Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules, additions, disposals, and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Provide support to other members of the finance team and assist with special projects and assignments as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2+YRS of experience in accounting or finance roles, with experience in accrual accounting, cash flow reporting, payroll, and fixed assets management preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with experience in financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
Experience with accounting software and financial management systems; experience with QuickBooks or other ERP systems is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
