Accounting Specialist (Sign Industry)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented In-House Construction Accounting Specialist to manage bookkeeping, construction invoicing, and financial reporting for our sign and construction operations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate progress billing, job costing, and financial visibility across projects. You will work closely with operations, project managers, and leadership to track project performance and maintain financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger
Prepare and manage progress billing for construction and sign projects
Track job costing, budgets, and project profitability
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Produce weekly financial and job cost reports for management
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation
Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant financial records
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Construction or project-based accounting experience (required)
Solid understanding of progress billing, retainage, and job costing
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently in an in-house, fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
Experience in the sign industry
Familiarity with construction accounting systems and workflows
Experience supporting project managers and operations teams

Competitive salary: Starting at $80,000 (based on experience)
