Child Care Administrative Assistant
Job Description:
A Child Care Administrative Assistant performs the responsibilities of both an administrative professional and a child care team member. An effective assistant demonstrates strong customer service skills and helps meet the needs of parents, children, and staff.
As the initial point of contact, they:
Answer phones and take messages
Handle day-to-day communication with parents
Answer questions about the center
Provide tours to prospective parents
Greet visitors
Supervise children during arrival and departure
This role works closely with the director/administrator on bookkeeping and record-keeping tasks. The assistant supports staff by arranging meetings, preparing memos, and directing internal communications. Light janitorial duties may be required, along with ensuring the center remains well-stocked and organized.
Depending on the needs of the center, this position may also include child care duties such as meal preparation and classroom supervision. The assistant should be prepared to fill in for other child care roles when needed due to breaks, scheduled absences, or emergencies.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A Child Care Administrative Assistant should have prior experience working in a child care/learning center and must meet all local licensing requirements.

Assistant experience
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
45-Hour Child Care Certification
CDA (120 Hours)
CPR Certification
Strong organizational abilities
Familiarity with computer software
Office management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding customer service abilities
