As an engineering and data service solutions provider, QC Data designs, manages, maintains and improves engineering and asset related data on behalf of telecoms, utilities, property management companies and other infrastructure-based organizations worldwide. We are currently looking for Designers to work at our client’s office in West Palm Beach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Updates systems as required per engineering guidelines and per workflow process.

2. Designs, removes, or places conductors, transformers, devices, etc. as required per engineering guidelines.

3. Reconciles and compares address errors in client’s support database and any other related systems.

4. Verifies transformers and electrical data in client’s support database and related systems and corrects as required.

5. Addresses conductivity issues identified in client’s support database and related systems per engineering guidelines.

6. Completes checklists and other paperwork required for engineering package delivery to client per engineering guidelines.

7. Liaises as required with engineers, supervisors, and drafters to ensure adherence to client specifications.

8. Drafts final design work prints using the specified application.

9. Encodes or assigns work steps for construction and financial records per client’s specifications.

10. Prepares permit drawings.

11. Utilizes existing project specifications to produce an acceptable engineering design.

12. Makes design production related decisions to respond to operational demands and client needs.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Completes required project status forms and timesheets in a timely manner.

2. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

Four year university degree in Engineering, Power Technology or related field.

Experience of three years or more in an engineering posting environment.

Solid Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) knowledge of AutoCAD and / or Microstation software and applications.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications:

Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

Strong working knowledge of general computer applications including Windows and Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel.

Solid working knowledge of client utility engineering specifications.

Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks in an environment where priorities change frequently, and the work is driven by deadlines.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret written material of a technical nature.

Ability to maintain accuracy and thoroughness doing repetitive work on fixed production schedules.

Ability to acquire skills and knowledge through continuous experience and adapt as needed.

Ability to solve problems or communicate problems and possible solutions to others.

Ability to interdependently work with others to produce products/services.

Ability to evaluate new situations and respond accordingly.

Ability to apply mathematical concepts.

Ability to listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
