We are looking for a Lead Mechanic to join our team (ASAP)
In this position, you will be responsible for fleet, maintaining and repairing all machinery, vehicles and heavy equipment repairs with two other shop personnel.
Our Company has a fleet of 40 + trucks and equipment. To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with good communication skills. You must have your own tools.
Duties:
Review daily scheduled with other tech
In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems
Must be able to perform vehicle, mid duty truck, and heavy equipment repairs.
Experience with both diesel and gas engines.
Knowledge of fabrication and welding skills and experience is a plus.
Valid driver's license with a clean record and dependable transportation to work.
Scheduling service on Fleet and Equipment, ordering parts both from vendors as well as locating parts on the internet.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques and procedures
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical issues and conducting repairs
- Experience working with industrial equipment, such as hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with tire service procedures, including mounting, balancing, and patching
- Ability to maintain and repair farm machinery, including tractors and harvesters
- Knowledge of electrical systems troubleshooting and repair
- Proficiency in fabricating parts using welding equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and find effective solutions

Responsibilities:

Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components and as well as code issues

Perform quality inspections prior to releasing vehicles to fleet
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a mechanic
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Knowledge of shop equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
MUST have own tools
Ability to evaluate and get truck and equipment back on the road
Ability to create POs and place orders for parts
Ability to take leadership in the shop
Ability to stay organized and maintain shop and work area clean
Time management skills
Ability to work in fast pace environment
Must be able to multitask
