Description Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant in the Education - Trade industry interested in working with a growing client. This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.How you will make an impact
Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Arrange monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Other projects as necessary
Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process Requirements - Skilled with ERP systems
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
7+ years of overall general accounting experience
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Experience with GASB
Foundational knowledge in Governmental accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Deep understanding of Government compliance
Adeptness in NetSuite
Federal Government Reporting experience desired
Knowledge of Government Audits
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
