Job Title: Technical EstimatorJob Description Source a network of reputable suppliers for best price and lead times for outside services (i.e., heat treatment, chemical processing and finishing, grinding, etc.). Work with Quality Assurance to get new vendors qualified and on the Approved Vendors List. Expedite vendor quotes (VQ). Work with Machine Shop team to capture cost drivers for all jobs (i.e., non-recurring engineering, tooling, fixturing, machine time, labor time, outside processing, etc.). Create and finalize cost sheets with a high level of accuracy and expediency for Sales and Management review before customer due dates. Review new RFQ’s with technical team to determine capability. Interpret and challenge historical production data when costing recurring jobs. Participate in special projects as assigned by Machine Shop team. Effectively manage open quote log and communicate status to all pertinent departments. Create purchase orders for miscellaneous shop supplies, tooling, and chemicals as required.
