BARTENDER

Bartenders craft and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to bar, hotel, and restaurant guests, following standard recipes and company policies. The bar also serves the full restaurant menu, and all bartenders are required to demonstrate excellent knowledge of sushi and Japanese cuisine. Blue Ribbon bartenders have a warm, congenial disposition and are excellent team players.

Responsibilities

Provide hospitality to bar and restaurant guests

Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the food and beverage menu

Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar and bar storage areas

Follow company service standards of procedure and recipes

Strictly adhere to responsible alcohol service standards

Take food & beverage orders and take payment

Qualifications

3 years of bartending experience required

2+ years’ experience at a comparable upscale or fine cuisine restaurant; an understanding and appreciation of food and wine is a must

Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally by email

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

Ability to follow directions and recipes precisely

Guest-minded and service-oriented

Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and/or spirits is preferred

SERVER

Servers not only take orders and payments from guests but are responsible for ensuring a great guest experience and coordinating the progression of service. Servers have an excellent understanding of our food and beverage offerings that inform how they guide our guests.

Responsibilities

Provide warm, professional hospitality and service to restaurant guests

Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the food and beverage menu

Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work area

Follow company service standards of procedure

Strictly adhere to responsible alcohol service standards

Take food & beverage orders and take payment

Qualifications

3 years of full-service high-volume serving experience required

2+ years’ experience at a comparable upscale or fine cuisine restaurant; or 1+ year experience at a Japanese or sushi restaurant

Demonstrated ability to provide wine service

Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally by email

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

Ability to follow directions and recipes precisely

Guest-minded and service-oriented

HOST

The Host is the first encounter a guest has with our restaurant and the last employee they will see before departing. Whether over the phone or in person, hosts have the important responsibility of setting the tone for their experience with us. Blue Ribbon hosts have a warm, congenial disposition and excellent team players. Hosts also take pickup orders and oversee third-party delivery applications, and therefore are required to demonstrate a solid understanding of the menu.

Responsibilities

Greet all guests warmly, help them during their time in the restaurant, and bid them farewell as they are leaving.

Book and manage reservations on OpenTable.

Assign and seat guests that maximize seating, minimize wait, and best utilize the service team.

Take pickup orders and take payment.

Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the food and beverage menu.

Oversee third-party delivery applications including Doordash, Grubhub, and Ubereats. Confirm that delivery orders are complete and hand off orders to the correct driver.

Answer the phone.

Follow company service standards of procedure

Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work area

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in a customer service-oriented position required

1+ years experience in the food service industry is preferred

Opentable or comparable reservation program experience preferred

Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally by email

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

Phone etiquette skills required

Ability to follow directions and recipes precisely

Major responsibilities including polishing glassware and restocking clean plates, moving them from the dish pit to the bar, dining areas, and kitchen.

This is an hourly position with evening shifts. No experience required.

Wage is $12/hr. Valid work authorization required.
