Madruga Bakery, a James Beard nominated artisan bakery and cafe located in South Miami, is seeking a bread baker to join our team. We are a family run, neighborhood bakery, focusing on producing the highest quality products and giving great customer service. Bread baking is the foundation of the bakery, with a focus on whole grain, naturally leavened breads produced from flour milled on our in-house stone mill. The ideal candidate would have experience baking bread in a commercial bakery. However, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Job responsibilities include:
-Mixing doughs
-Shaping bread by hand
-Baking bread in a deck oven
-Mixing and baking additional products like banana bread, granola, etc.
-Weighing, chopping, and prepping ingredients
-Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ones feet for an 8 hour shift
-Maintaining safety and sanitation standards while working
Expectations:
-Experience baking in a commercial establishment
-Love of early mornings
-Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in work
-Punctuality and great time management skills
-Cleanliness, and proper food handling knowledge
-Ability to work well as a team player
-An interest in learning and constantly improving
-A positive attitude
This is a full time position, early morning availability is a must, 5 days a week, including weekends.
