Job description
The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the restaurant group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role involves overseeing accounting functions, managing financial analysis, and collaborating with restaurant management to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports, and ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights to management for operational decisions.
Cost Control: Monitor and analyze food and labor costs, implementing strategies to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions, including vendor payments and guest charges.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with the operations team to track inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and analyze inventory costs.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with restaurant managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of restaurant financial operations and accounting principles.
Proficient in Restaurant365, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Skills:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
Work Environment:
The Assistant Controller typically works in an office setting within a restaurant or corporate office, with a standard workweek that may require additional hours during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end close.
