We are offering a part-time caregiving opportunity for a warm and enthusiastic caregiver who can benefit from 8 to 10 hours per week split over two shifts.
OUR LOVED ONE:
You would be looking after our very dear 80-year old mother and wife who has memory challenges due to Alzheimer's. Despite her challenges, she remains cheerful and positive and has a warm and gentle disposition. When feeling her best she is friendly and playful. We do our best to keep her this way. We place emphasis not only on her physical care, but also on her emotional well-being.
YOU, THE CAREGIVER:
We are seeking a cheerful and warm caregiver who will contribute towards a positive and supportive home care environment. We prefer a caregiver who is younger, between 22 to 38 years old, closer in age to a granddaughter.
Previous caregiving experience is helpful but not essential. We will help providing training. Good communication skills are vital for keeping the family informed about how she is doing and being open to feedback and tips on care.
MUST ENJOY COOKING
Though our loved one is petite she has a surprising appetite. She is not as interested in having a caregiver, as she is in having someone prepare nice meals for her. Your way to her heart is through the kitchen. Please expect to spend time preparing meals and be accompanied by her during some of these times.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Providing companionship and emotional support
Use of sound judgment with an emphasis on safety
Assisting with personal hygiene needs (toileting and showers)
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping and small tasks around the house
Creating a joyful and supportive home care environment
Keeping Mom smiling and out of trouble : )
DAYS and HOURS:
We have some flexibility with both days and hours. We are offering a 4 to 5-hour shift, twice a week, totaling between 8 to 10 hours. The days available are Monday thru Saturday. Please let us know your availability, and we will do our best to work with your schedule.
LOCATION:
We are located in west Delray Beach.
COMPENSATION: $22 to $25 per hour
