Job Duties

Welcomes patients/visitors with a positive and upbeat attitude by greeting patients

and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring

questions to other staff members in a timely manner.

Communicate delays with patients in the waiting room, staff, and providers to

maintain a smooth office flow.

Promptly and accurately checks in the patients, collects and posts copays,

deductibles, and or co-insurance according to the patients current insurance

verification eligibility check.

Optimizes provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments

in person or by telephone.

Comfort patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions,

maintaining the reception area, and assist patients with completion of paperwork.

Calling new patients as well as current patients for retention purposes.

Appointment confirmation calls for those patients who have not confirmed yet,

coordinate post-hospital discharge visits.

Update office board daily to ensure team is aware of current office metrics.

Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

Displays teamwork through employee rotation of small housekeeping duties.

Review clinical inboxes, incoming faxes, and assign them to the correct department.

Verifying patient appointment type is accurate based on chart information.

Keep inventory of office supplies and advise office manager or a need to order in a

timely fashion.

Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and

financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed

changes.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Other duties as business needs dictate.
