Project Overview:
The purpose of this project is to remove the existing attic insulation due to age, contamination, or inefficiency and replace it with new, high-performance blown-in fiberglass insulation to improve thermal performance, energy efficiency, and overall air quality in the home.
⸻
Step-by-Step Process:
1. Preparation & Protection
Set up proper containment to protect living areas.
Cover attic access points and flooring as needed.
2. Insulation Removal
Vacuum and remove all existing insulation (batts or blown-in).
Safely bag and dispose of all old insulation material.
Inspect attic structure and note any visible damage or rodent activity.
3. Attic Cleaning & Treatment
Perform enzyme fogging treatment to break down rodent waste and odor.
Apply antibacterial fogging to disinfect and sanitize the attic space.
Optional rodent proofing available upon request.
4. Air Sealing
Seal accessible gaps, cracks, and penetrations to reduce air leakage.
Helps prevent heat loss and improves overall energy efficiency.
5. Insulation Installation
Install blown-in fiberglass insulation to desired depth:
R-30 for standard energy performance (approx. 10–12 inches)
R-49 available upon request for enhanced insulation
Ensure even and consistent coverage across all attic areas.
6. Final Cleanup & Inspection
Complete a walkthrough to ensure full coverage.
Clean all work areas and remove any debris or materials from the property.
