We are recruiting for a Litigation Legal Assistant position at a mid-sized firm with offices in Hollywood, Miami, and Boca Raton, FL. This firm focuses on complex litigation across various industries, including plaintiff personal injury, insurance defense, and commercial litigation. It is an established firm with an excellent reputation and work atmosphere.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Providing pre-litigation and litigation support and assistance to the paralegals and associates in the office
- Open, file, and organize digital litigation case files.
- Prepare litigation documents (corporate representative binders, trial documents, and settlement documents) and legal correspondence to be issued to counsel and court.
- Input data into the legal case management system.
- Scan, organize, and forward outgoing and incoming mail.
- Answer incoming calls to the Litigation Dept and forward them appropriately.
- Timely complete required litigation and administrative tasks.
- Handle all calendaring and maintain deadlines
Position Requirements :
- Must be flexible with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Must be capable of performing various administrative duties for the Dept.
- Understanding of legal terminology and local court/jurisdiction rules
- Experience in plaintiff personal injury law
- Ability to prioritize and identify urgency as well as manage time and multitask effectively
