Small Farmer Market is a unique farm experience offering fresh plants, fruits, smoothies, and more. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Independent Contractor to join our team as a Part-Time Sales & Operations Supervisor. This is an opportunity for someone passionate about nature, customer service, and farm-fresh products, with the potential to earn commissions and bonuses based on performance.
Position Overview:
The Sales & Operations Supervisor will report directly to Dr. Farmy Business Manager, and oversee daily market operations while driving sales of plants, fruits, and smoothies. The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) speaker, primarily fluent in English, with experience in retail sales, inventory management, and POS systems. A passion for smoothies, herbs, and creating a welcoming farm atmosphere is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Engagement:
Promote and sell plants, fruits, and smoothies while ensuring excellent customer service.
Provide recommendations and educate customers on products to boost sales and satisfaction.
Work towards achieving sales targets to earn commissions and bonuses.
Smoothie & Herb Station Oversight:
Prepare and serve smoothies with attention to quality and taste.
Educate customers on the benefits of fresh herbs and natural ingredients.
Supervision of Farm Trailers:
Oversee three farm trailers and a flower stand.
Ensure all vendors comply with Dr. Farmy’s guidelines and maintain operational standards.
Inventory & POS Management:
Manage stock levels, track sales, and handle POS transactions efficiently.
Report sales and inventory updates regularly to Dr. Farmy.
Market Operations & Compliance:
Maintain a clean and organized market space in alignment with Dr. Farmy’s standards.
Ensure all vendors adhere to farm policies and hygiene regulations.
Communication & Reporting:
Must be comfortable and eager to report to Manager, as needed.
Ensure clear and transparent communication with management regarding market operations, sales updates, and any concerns.
Handle operational issues through timely reports to the farm manager, avoiding ties with vendors.
What We’re Looking For:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, with primary English communication skills.
Experience in sales, team supervision, inventory control, and POS systems.
Passion for smoothies, herbs, and farm-based products.
Some experience or interest in plants, gardening, or farm-related activities.
Strong multitasking skills and the ability to oversee various daily operations.
Friendly, customer-focused attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Comfortable working in a growing startup environment with potential for future expansion.
