Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Rack and Stack Technician will install Cisco UCX Chassis and components, networking devices, storage devices, cables, and other data center equipment into industrial cabinets
The Rack and Stack Technician will integrate the hardware to complete the customer’s datacenter solution. Strong knowledge of Cisco UCS architecture, including UCS Manager, fabric interconnects, and chassis configuration
Unpack equipment from shipping containers, inspect for physical defects, and stage for installation.
Set up and calibrate cabinets for installation of related component hardware
Assist in the physical racking of data center assets including network switches, computer servers, storage devices, PDUs and related equipment into datacenter cabinets following the rack elevation diagram
Install, dress and bundle cables (power, DAC, copper and fiber ethernet, etc) as documented in the runbook
Label cables in accordance with build specifications
Tag and label installed assets according to customer requirements to ensure proper cataloging in customer asset data files
They will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and migration of server systems within Cisco HyperFlex environments, focusing on transitioning to Cisco UCS-X infrastructure.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
