Responsibilities and Duties:
Answer phones, schedule appointments, direct calls, take messages, send faxes, use computer, enter EMR data, enter data in computer, document work, answer patient questions (this includes on the job training), check patients in and out, collect payments, monitor and perform other front desk tasks as needed. Perform visual field screening, auto refraction tests, and contact lens education (this includes on the job training).
Prepare the EMR for the ophthalmologist for examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Perform preliminary tests, including auto refractor and visual field perimetry (on the job training included)
Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with clinic protocols.
Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries.
Provide education to patients regarding eye health and treatment options.
Collaborate with the medical billing department to ensure accurate billing processes.
Verify insurances and obtain authorizations
Utilize Practicefusion and other systems effectively for patient management and record keeping.
Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in understanding patient conditions.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable, presentable, short trimmed nails, attentive to details, able to multi-task, possess excellent communication skill verbal and written in English and Spanish, a team player willing to help out in all areas as needed

Requirements:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of medical records management (filing, organizing, data entry)
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Basic understanding of retail math for sales-related tasks is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
Preferences:
Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a similar clinical role is preferred.
Familiarity with Practicefusion EMR software is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical billing processes.
A background in physiology or related fields will be beneficial for understanding clinical procedures.
