The Field Technician I must have a “Customer First” attitude and be prepared to do whatever IT takes. FT I must demonstrate the ability to show skills and experience in Layer 1 Network Infrastructure and IP building security. The FT I will be focused on working at client sites in both pre-construction and retro-fit projects.
Responsibilities include:
Physical installation of access control, CCTV and Voice and Data, and video entry systems, including the required infrastructure, equipment trim-out and programming of devices.
Structured cabling installations
Proficient in termination different forms of industry cabling including cat5e, cat6 and coaxial.
Knowledge of access control theory and different types of door hardware including maglocks, strikes, call buttons, and exit devices.
Aptitude to become proficient in programming and networking configurations of all IP based equipment and service legacy analog devices.
VOIP installations
Network equipment installations including firewalls, switches, routers, access points, desktop computers, etc
Dispatch as needed to assist with incoming emergency service request.
Available to be on-call for emergency service rotation.
Must be able to work alone at times.
Interact with customers and represent the company in a professional manner.
Field technician progression program available for career advancement.
Willing to cross train into other aspects of the company
Qualifications:
2 years structured cabling work experience
2 years Access Control System installation and programming work experience
2 years CCTV installation and programming work experience
1 year computer networking with knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls
Demonstrated experience implementing IT projects.
Proven dedication to enabling continuous operations.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, conducive to team development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid and clean drivers’ license
