Brick and Block Layer Duties and Responsibilities:
-Measure work areas and set out the first rows of bricks or blocks according to blueprint specifications.
-Spread mortar on the unit bed being laid with a trowel and force it into joints between units with a jointer.
-Shape and trim bricks using hammers, chisels, and power tools.
-Check that rows are straight using a spirit level, laser level, or plumb line.
-Clean the work area of debris at the end of each workday.
