We are a growing custom millwork shop specializing in high-quality, precision-crafted woodwork for commercial, and architectural projects. We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in turning client visions into reality.
Position Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for custom millwork projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and job requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of millwork assembly, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with clients, project managers, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
2. Calculate material quantities, labor hours, subcontractor costs, and overheads.
3. Develop comprehensive proposals and bids within required timelines.
4. Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive quotes.
5. Collaborate with project managers and designers to align estimates with client expectations and production capabilities.
6. Maintain organized records of bids, change orders, and project costs.
7. Assist with value engineering and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an Estimator in millwork, cabinetry, construction, or a related field.
2. Fundamental understanding of the assembly of complex millwork products including cabinets, die walls, receptions, and radius work.
3. Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
4. Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and CAD (preferred).
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
6. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
