Job Description
Supports team by providing preventive and ongoing maintenance, modifications, and training as well as truck and trailer maintenance and light repair for trucks and landscape equipment repair. Manages parts and supply inventories and suggests improvements to equipment and/or processes. Computer Savvy.
Job Duties
Equipment Repair
Diagnose and repair problems in fuel, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems of trucks, trailers and equipment
Diagnose and repair problems of other equipment (skid steers, mini excavators, large mowers, etc.) as presented
Welding and/or fabrication for repairs is a plus
Diagnose and perform light repairs on trucks (Isuzu, Ford and the like), equipment (skid steers, trenchers, backhoes, etc.) and trailers
Schedule all repairs/maintenance with branch production personnel
Preventive Maintenance Program
Scheduling preventive maintenance
Follow up and monitor preventive maintenance
Ensure all preventive maintenance supplies are on hand and available
Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, equipment and trailers
Ensure annual DOT inspection is completed for all licensed vehicles
Purchasing
Purchase equipment related parts and supplies from designated vendors
Maintain and control parts room/inventory
Utilize corporate sponsored supply programs wherever available
Understand, monitor and review vendor pricing structures
Administrative
Complete and document repair orders
Computer Savvy – Fleetio or other maintenance & repair program for record keeping
Coordinate with Office Administrator on purchase tracking
Oversee 2 cycle / assistant mechanic
Minimum Requirements
Must be able to wear necessary PPE as per task assigned.
Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, ie rain, heat/sun, cold
Must be able to traverse various terrain types.
Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information in ENGLISH. Creole & Spanish a plus
Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
Must have own transportation to and from the show up location.
Must be able to lift, move and maneuver heavy weights up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis, but up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
Must have the endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment & tools
Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
Must have good hand-to-eye coordination.
Must pass a background and MVR check
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Pay based on experience. $24-34/hour - 2 cycle $18-24/hour.
