Mina Temp Resource is seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Contractor to oversee and manage a variety of construction projects, including residential and commercial builds, renovations, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, with specific expertise in drywall installation and repairs, prep, patch, plaster, prime and paint, caulking, plastering, tile repair, and basic electrical and plumbing work. Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead a team of subcontractors and laborers are essential to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections to ensure timely completion of projects.
Quality Control: Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials used in each project, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues that arise.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes requested by the client.
Permitting & Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of subcontractors, laborers, and support staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or delays that arise during the construction process, ensuring that projects remain on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Contractor or in a similar role within the construction industry, with specific experience in:
o Wallpaper installation and repairs
o Prep, patch, plaster, prime, and painting
o Caulking and tile repair
o Basic electrical work
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Licensing: Valid General Contractor’s License and any other required certifications for the state of New Jersey.
Technical Skills: Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and solve problems that arise during construction.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
