Your expertise in fire safety could save lives and businesses. We're seeking a skilled Kitchen Fire Suppression and Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team of safety professionals. In this critical role, you’ll ensure that commercial kitchens remain protected against fire hazards through expert installation, inspection, and maintenance of suppression systems and extinguishers, all while providing excellent customer service.

Installation and Maintenance:
Install, inspect, test, and maintain kitchen fire suppression systems according to NFPA standards and local codes
Install, inspect, and service various types of fire extinguishers
Perform semi-annual and annual inspections of kitchen hood suppression systems
Complete 6-year maintenance and 12-year hydrostatic testing on portable fire extinguishers
Document all inspections and services to ensure compliance
Technical Tasks:
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire suppression systems
Recharge and refill fire extinguishers
Test system components and verify proper operation
Ensure correct function of fusible links, manual pull stations, and gas shut-off valves
Confirm appropriate suppression agent coverage
Replace worn or outdated system components
Maintain inventory of parts and supplies
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain knowledge of NFPA 10 and 17A
Stay current with local fire codes and regulations
Complete detailed inspection reports and service records
Identify and report any code violations or safety issues
Customer Service:
Clearly explain inspection findings and repair needs to customers
Train kitchen staff on manual activation and emergency procedures
Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude on all job sites
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Safety and Professional Development:
Maintain all required certifications
Use appropriate PPE and follow company safety procedures
Attend manufacturer trainings to stay up to date on technology and code changes
Keep service vehicle clean and stocked with proper tools and equipment
Follow company protocols for service calls and paperwork
Requirements and Skills:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
State fire protection license (or ability to obtain)
Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Range Guard, etc.)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in tight spaces
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Prior experience in fire protection or a related field
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
High attention to detail and commitment to safety
Comfortable using handheld service software
