Summary of Duties:
Cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for painting as needed; applies primer and finish coats using automotive (2 and 3 stage) paints; may do body work required to prepare planters for painting; may mix and match paints; may occasionally rub, polish, and wax finish coats; In addition to painting; cleans and maintains spray guns and other painting equipment; keeps time and work records.
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of:
-The processes, techniques, and materials used in painting automotive or boat equipment.
-The proper methods of preparing materials for painting.
-The proper methods of caring for spray guns and other auto-painting equipment and materials;
-Safety precautions required in performing the work of the trade;
-Safe work practices; skill in the use of spray guns and other painting equipment;
-The ability to mix and match paints;
-The ability to prepare surfaces (fiberglass preferred) for painting;
-The ability to communicate and follow written and oral instructions.
