Seeking a highly organized and experienced Dispatch Manager with airport experience to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the pickup and delivery operations with a strong focus on airport recoveries and tenders. It is essential that the candidate have prior experience and a deep understanding of airport procedures, including pickup and drop-off protocols, security measures, and knowledge of local traffic patterns in relation to airport routes. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with English and Spanish-speaking drivers, customers, and team members.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the daily logistics operation, ensuring the seamless pickup and delivery of goods to and from airports.
- Receive and process customer orders, meticulously verifying all information and documentation
- Dispatch drivers to designated pickup and delivery locations, skillfully considering variables such as driver availability, traffic conditions, and airport regulations to ensure on-time arrivals and departures.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide precise pickup and delivery instructions, promptly address any issues or delays, and ensure strict compliance with airport and company policies and procedures.
- Utilize real-time tracking systems to monitor driver locations and maintain complete visibility of ongoing operations.
- Collaborate closely with agents to promptly respond to customer inquiries, effectively resolve complaints, and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain meticulous records of dispatch activities, including accurate documentation of pickup and delivery times, comprehensive driver logs, and any incidents or exceptions encountered.
- Stay fully informed about local traffic conditions, road closures, and airport procedures, ensuring optimal routing and timely pickups to minimize any potential disruptions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP's) and training of drivers and employees. Continuously strive for process improvements and efficiency.
- Regularly evaluate driver performance metrics, such as on-time performance and customer feedback. Provide constructive feedback and coaching as necessary.
- Uphold stringent adherence to all safety regulations, security protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a manager for at least 1 year, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of airport procedures, including pickup and drop-off protocols, security measures, and familiarity with the Miami and South Florida area's airports.
- Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with English and Spanish-speaking drivers, customers, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, essential for managing multiple tasks and prioritizing assignments.
- Proficiency in computer skills and prior experience with dispatching software or transportation management systems.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make prompt and well-informed decisions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
