We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher to join our seafood logistics team. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the transportation of fresh fish and seafood products from suppliers to destinations across the USA. This role is crucial to ensuring timely, safe, and efficient deliveries, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a high sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and dispatch drivers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries of fresh seafood, adhering to tight schedules and delivery windows.
Communicate effectively with drivers, suppliers, and receivers to provide real-time updates on routes, delivery changes, or potential delays.
Manage and resolve any transportation issues that arise, including delays, route changes, or equipment concerns.
Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize routes and maximize driver efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of dispatches, delivery times, and any service interruptions.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to food safety and transportation.
Schedule:
Late afternoon into the evening, 3-4 days per week.
Flexibility is required to meet the demands of fresh seafood transportation, especially with late deliveries and unexpected logistical changes.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in dispatching, preferably in the seafood or perishable goods industry.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
Familiarity with transportation management software and temperature-sensitive logistics is a plus.
