Description:
Seeking maintenance personnel to join the engineering and maintenance team aboard our 105’ passenger vessel The Naples Princess, 48’ Sailing Catamaran Miss Naples and Port O Call Marina. Primarily focused on cosmetic maintenance/cleaning and occasionally assisting engineer and captain with mechanical repairs. Applicants should have some experience with grinding, sanding, painting, and basic boat cleaning. Mechanical knowledge or aptitude is a plus. Full-time position but must be flexible with work hours, potentially including nights and weekends. Must be physically capable of working outdoors in south Florida as well as confined spaces such as engine rooms and holds. Must be comfortable working around water as well as performing tasks from a small raft and ladders.
Responsibilities:
Cleaning of vessel exterior including decks, windows, freeboard, handrails etc.
Cleaning of vessel interior holds including voids and engine room.
Rust mitigation including grinding, sanding, painting, prepping, and painting with marine grade 2-part epoxy paint.
Occasionally assisting the engineering team with mechanical repairs and maintenance.
All other projects as dictated by engineer or vessel master.
Requirements:
Physically capable of working outdoors and in confined spaces
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Work a minimum of 40 hours a week (potentially including nights and weekends)
Fluent in English
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Keen attention to detail, and work proactively
Ability to learn and take direction from chief engineer and master of the vessel
Capable of working with chemicals including marine paints, epoxies, solvents, acids, and other cleaning supplies
