Environmental Specialist - I
Company: Small environmental consulting firm, owned and operated for over 30 years in the southwest Florida area with an office in Collier County. We are looking for dedicated, professional, motivated individuals and offer candidates a flexible and highly supportive work environment. The position may be structured as either a sub-contractor, or via an employee position depending on preferences.
Job Duties May Include: Conducting environmental inventories (FLUCCS mapping/ listed species surveys/jurisdictional wetland delineations), obtaining State and Federal permit approvals, local municipal/county development review applications, restoration of native habitat and monitoring, CAD-based design.
Qualifications: Fluency in Spanish is required
The qualified candidate shall posses educational training in the area of Environmental/Biological Sciences or Natural Resources and posses (or working towards) a BS or BA degree. Preferred candidates will have training/experience in one or more of the following areas:
Preserve/Restoration Areas Maintenance & Monitoring;Florida Native Plants & Animals;
State/Federal Wetland Determinations and Delineations;Environmental Resource Permitting;
Listed Species Surveys;
Candidates must be able to work and navigate around by foot within the field for multiple hours, thru very thick brush, sometimes navigating using a compass or GPS unit. Conditions include hot humid wet weather, and in snake/alligator/bear habitat. Ability to travel to multiple counties within SW Florida as neededÂ
Work from home independently and with a small group (2-3 others). Great communication skills and attention to detail required.
